Jesse James Hollywood was sentenced on Friday, February 5, 10 years after he led a gang murder of Nicholas Markowitz in California.
Prosecutors maintained Hollywood was the ringleader of a plot to kill Markowitz to send a message to the teenager’s brother after he failed to pay off a drug debt. The killer was captured in Brazil five years after he disappeared from California. His arrest came just before director Nick Cassavetes’ “Alpha Dog”, which starred Emile Hirsch and Justin Timberlake, was released.
“Alpha Dog” itself was first released in the U.S. on January 12, 2007. The big screen project, which was in seventh at the box office during its debut weekend, has grossed $30.8 million worldwide over its six-week release.

*R.I.P* Jimmy O, Haitian Hip Hop Artist And Friend Of Wyclef Jean , Found Crushed To Death In Haiti
Posted in Uncategorized with tags charity, haiti, hip, hop, jean, jimmy, o, wyclef on January 15, 2010 by mr.973CNN: Jimmy O, a well-known singer and songwriter in Haiti who also was active in hip-hop artist and philanthropist Wyclef Jean’s charity, is dead.
Jimmy O, 35, was crushed in a vehicle during the 7.0-magnitude earthquake, apparently while he was driving in downtown Port-au-Prince.
CNN was on the scene when his body was discovered Friday. A man examined the body and pulled from one of the victim’s pants pocket the artist’s passport. CNN saw the document, which verified the man was Jimmy O, whose legal name was Jean Jimmy Alexandre.
Jimmy O’s family and agent, who were on the scene, also verified his identity. “His loss will be tremendous in Haiti,” said the agent, Henry Robert Dominique.
Dominique said Jimmy O helped run Yele Haiti, a grass-roots charitable organization established by Jean in 2005. And as a musician, Jimmy O helped develop new talent and artists in the impoverished nation, Dominique said.
Jimmy O’s mother, wife and two of his three children wept at the scene. They were joined by a crowd that had gathered, also struck by emotion over the loss of Jimmy O.
Yele Haiti’s goal has been to restore pride and hope to the Haitian people through projects that will allow citizens to ultimately help themselves, such as the creation of scholarships, support for the arts, food distribution and emergency relief.
The organization served the poorest of the poor in Haiti, Dominique told CNN. In its first year, it provided scholarships to more than 3,600 children.
Within 72 hours of the earthquake, Jean had mobilized on social networking sites to raise money for relief aid.
BREAKING NEWS…. THE SMOKING GUN EXPOSE WYCLEF FOR ENRICHING HIMSELF WIT DONATIONS FROM CHARITY FOR THE DISASTER IN HAITI
Posted in Uncategorized with tags aid, charity, disaster, earthquake, FUNNY, haiti, money, red cross, relief, scams, smoking gun, wyclef, yele on January 15, 2010 by mr.973JANUARY 14–The Haiti earthquake has already triggered hundreds of thousands of donations to musician Wyclef Jean’s charitable foundation, which expects to raise upwards of $1 million a day in the disaster’s wake. However, Internal Revenue Service records show the group has a lackluster history of accounting for its finances, and that the organization has paid the performer and his business partner at least $410,000 for rent, production services, and Jean’s appearance at a benefit concert. Though the Wyclef Jean Foundation, which does business as Yele Haiti Foundation, was incorporated 12 years ago–and has been active since that time–the group only first filed tax returns in August 2009. That month, the foundation provided the IRS with returns covering calendar years 2005, 2006, and 2007–the only periods for which it has publicly provided a glimpse at its financial affairs. In 2006, Jean’s charity reported contributions of $1 million, the bulk of which came from People magazine in exchange for the first photos of a pregnant Angelina Jolie (the actress reportedly directed that the publication’s payment go to Jean’s charity, not her personally). As seen on the following pages from the foundation’s 2006 tax return, the group paid $31,200 in rent to Platinum Sound, a Manhattan recording studio owned by Jean and Jerry Duplessis, who, like Jean, is a foundation board member. A $31,200 rent payment was also made in 2007 to Platinum Sound. The rent, tax returns assure, “is priced below market value.” The recording studio also was paid $100,000 in 2006 for the “musical performance services of Wyclef Jean at a benefit concert.” That six-figure payout, the tax return noted, “was substantially less than market value.” The return, of course, does not address why Jean needed to be paid to perform at his own charity’s fundraiser. But the largest 2006 payout–a whopping $250,000–went to Telemax, S.A., a for-profit Haiti company in which Jean and Duplessis were said to “own a controlling interest.” The money covered “pre-purchased…TV airtime and production services” that were part of the foundation’s “outreach efforts” in Haiti. No further description of these services was offered, though the return claimed that “the fees paid are below market” and that the use of Telemax was the “most efficient way of providing these services.” The group’s tax returns also report “consultant” payments totaling $300,000 between 2005-2007, while the 2006 return reported nearly $225,000 in “promotion and PR” costs. These expenses are not itemized further in the IRS returns. (6 pages) .READ MORE

Pat Robertson Cites Haiti’s Earthquake As What Happens When You ‘Swear A Pact To The Devil’
Posted in ENTERTAINMENT, news with tags 7.0, aid, earthquake, haiti, jimmy o, pat robertson, red cross, wyclef on January 13, 2010 by mr.973Haiti is now struggling to recover from a devastating earthquake that hit the island nation on Tuesday, with the death toll reaching far into the thousands. The disaster “left the country in a shambles, tangling efforts to provide relief to an estimated 3 million people who the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies said had been affected by the quake.” Many aid groups, however, are also struggling with their own dead and wounded employees.
Today on his 700 Club television show, Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson highlighted the tragedy and said that his network will be there “to help the people.” However, he then tried to offer an explanation for the earthquake, blaming Haiti’s own people for once making a “pact to the devil”:
